Autumn walks
Opportunities for walks through red pine woods or along the shoreline are many and varied, and the sub-mediterranean climate allows such activity even in winter. Undoubtedly a walk from Portorož to Piran could be interesting, a stroll along the sea (3.5 kilometres) or across White Cross (84 metres of elevation), from where a magnificent view of the coast and Triest is offered, and where from we continue towards Piran. We can saunter from Piran to Fiesa, with its fresh water lakes, and proceed to Strunjan passing Pacug, or along the coast within an hour or so. We can wander from Portorož through Lucija and on to Seča, where the famous Forma Viva open air sculptures exhibition can be admired, comprising over 100 sculptures by international artists, and still further until the salt pans (4 kilometres), again within an hour or so. From Portorož we can stroll by the sea to Lucija (1 km). A pleasant sight of the salt pans can be experienced by sauntering from Portorož to Seča (2 km).
